As passionate riders ourselves, our best ideas happen on our bikes. When we aren’t coaching, guiding or managing events we are out building and riding trails. The administrative side of our business is done from our laptops and smartphones, as The Cycilng Co. is a location independent lifestyle business which allows us to serve our clients in the most amazing and inspiring locations possible.

Adam Walker
Adam WalkerFounder, Head Coach
Founder and Head Coach, Adam Walker brings vast experience and knowledge to The Cycling Co. as previous Canada Cup Champion and National Team member. Adam lives in the Lake Cowichan area on Vancouver Island, with his wife Mariska and their labs Cash and Roxie.
Adam has lived at resort destinations such as Bear Mountain, Sun Peaks and Whistler and has opportunities to work as a coach and mountain bike guide in the world renowned Whistler Bike Park.

How many people do you know who would move halfway around the world so they could live and ride their bike in BC? Meet our new coach, Lewis. He and his wife left their home in Scotland to do just that. Lewis was a pretty fine DH racer as a young lad back home, and now he’s here in Victoria, BC to share his passion for riding bikes.
Mahon Lamot
Mahon LamotCoach
Whistler born and raised, Mahon grew up surrounded by all things bikes. His farther helped found WORCA Toonie races and still runs races to this day. Mahon grew up racing in riding in the Sea to Sky corridor, originally as an XC racer, where he was eventually a member of Team BC. In the summers he was coached at WORCA Dirt Camps, where he eventually became a coach himself. Mahon raced XC until he was 22, before switching to the Enduro in 2018. Mahon races the Canadian Enduro Series, the Whistler EWS and many other local enduros.

Taylor

Taylor started working for the Cycling co after his recent move from Ontario. Taylor has been coaching cycling for nearly a decade. He has a long history in XC racing but over the last couple years has switched over to the gravity side of mountain biking. Taylor loves steep rough jank trails and is stoked to be on the west coast

Carter Nieuwesteeg

Fernie born and raised, Carter has been riding bikes for as long as he can remember, but it wasn’t until the end of high school that he really got the racing bug. In 2015 Carter chose the University of Victoria because he believed that would be the best place for him to pursue a post-secondary education while becoming an elite cross country racer. Since graduating in 2020, Carter has taken racing to the next level while also founding the Fernie Gravel Grind.

Vancouver Island is home to many talented and upcoming enduro riders and racers. Adam Walker, head coach of the Dirt Squad, sheds some insight as to why racing is important at a time when we are missing it most.
